About Us
SmartKNX is a full-service KNX integrator delivering smart-home and smart-building projects across Europe. We take a building from the first idea to a fully working, documented system — design, ETS programming, on-site installation and long-term support — and we supply the KNX hardware to match. Everything we do is built on the open, manufacturer-independent KNX standard (ISO/IEC 14543), so the systems we deliver are reliable, expandable and free of vendor lock-in.
What we do
We are a single, accountable partner for the whole KNX chain. Our own certified engineers and on-site teams handle every stage, so a project is one continuous process rather than a hand-off between disconnected suppliers:
- Design & ETS Programming — topology, device schedules and tested programming; the ETS file stays yours.
- On-Site Commissioning & Installation — our teams install, test and hand over across Europe.
- Remote Support & Maintenance — SLA-backed monitoring, changes and troubleshooting.
- Smart Home Consultancy — independent advice and KNX audits before you build.

The SmartKNX approach
Our engineering approach is decentralised: intelligence lives inside the field devices — push-buttons, thermostats and room controllers — instead of a crowded central panel. With integrated-relay devices such as Letour, the switching relay sits inside the device, which means cleaner wiring, a smaller distribution board, faster installation and a lower total cost on every project — without giving up anything KNX can do.
For homeowners and developers
You receive a system that is programmed, tested and handed over turnkey, with full documentation and a clear warranty. KNX is the standard specified in the most demanding residential and commercial projects worldwide, it scales from an apartment to an entire estate, and it adds measurable value at resale. One partner is accountable from concept to commissioning.
For integrators, architects and contractors
Use us as your delivery partner. We provide ETS engineering, remote programming and on-site commissioning under your brand or alongside your team — you decide how technical you want to get. Catalogue is broad and brand-agnostic, ETS templates are included, and support is direct: you call, we answer.

One team, three specialised projects
SmartKNX is run by the same engineering team behind two complementary projects. Together they cover the whole building-services chain — from the core electrical and HVAC infrastructure to advanced KNX automation:
- smartknx.eu — KNX smart-home and building automation across Europe: design, ETS programming, on-site commissioning and the KNX hardware shop. (this site)
- knxsmarthome.ro — our Romanian KNX brand, focused on smart-home services and the online shop.
- electroclima.ro — electrical installations, HVAC and climate systems in Romania: the engineering foundation that every reliable smart project is built on.
Whether you need a complete KNX integration or the underlying electrical and HVAC works, the same certified team delivers it end to end.
Certifications & credentials
Our work is backed by official KNX and electrical credentials — verifiable, not just claimed:
- KNX Certified Partner — listed in the official KNX partner directory (Partner No. 91644).
- KNX Basic, Advanced & HVAC Certificates — our engineers hold all three levels of official KNX certification.
- KNX Secure — qualified to design and commission cyber-secure KNX installations.
- ANRE electrical authorisation (Grade II) — authorised to design and execute low-voltage electrical installations of any installed power, with written responsibility.
At handover you receive the full documentation set: your ETS project file, as-built electrical schematics, group-address list, acceptance report, user manual and equipment warranties.
What ANRE Grade II means: it authorises us to design (type A) and execute (type B) low-voltage electrical installations — below 1 kV, with no installed-power limit. That is exactly the scope behind a smart-home or smart-building project: wiring, distribution boards, circuits and the power infrastructure on which the KNX bus runs.
